​The website is for the Palaeontological Society of Southern Africa (PSSA). It features news concerning research conducted by scientists in Southern Africa, and collaborators overseas.  The website also promotes the journal Palaeontologia africana (hosted and edited by the Evolutionary Studies Institute of the University of the Witwatersrand), its biannual newsletter PalNews, and its biennial conference.
